Please download the information and registration packet for all the details about this event.
The Club is looking for a good, used, reasonably‐priced Gator to help move sporting clays out to the range.Currently, we are using golf carts, but the clays are really too heavy for golf carts to handle. If you know of an available Gator in good condition, please let a member of the board know.

This program, which is effective immediately, is geared for 12-18 year‐olds with or withou shotgun shooting experience. The program works in the following manner.
Members who have a youngster(s) in the aforementioned age groups may fire a shotgun at no cost (in lieu of usual range fees) to the youngster.
Two boxes of shells are donated to the shooter firing Sporting Clays and one box for firing 5 Station, or one box for Sporting Clays and one box for 5 Station Clay Birds. This is for the first round of shooting only. After the first round, the youth must purchase his or her own shells for each subsequent round. The youth MUST be accompanied by a family member or responsible adult. A youngster may fire in this manner each time the club is open for shotgun shooting.
Youngsters may bring a guest in the same age group, but that individual must supply his or her own shells, which can be purchased at the club’s cost. This program has proven to have a high success rate and the subsequent associated training is good preparation for life skills.

Many of you know that fellow CSC member Bill Wood and I spend the winter months with our wives down in Florida.
This year our “home” club, Sarasota Trap, Skeet, and Clays, made some changes to their 5 stand course. The club created a second and softer menu to supplement the standard menu. This new menu is called the “blue” menu. It is perfect for new shooters, youth shooters, and shooters who want to shoot their sub‐gauge (20ga,28ga,410ga guns), pumps , or side by side shotguns.
The neat thing is that both the regular (red), and the blue (softer) menu can be shot at the same time. This new format has proved so popular that on one Wednesday (that club is open 9am to 9pm on Wednesday), they threw over 3,500 targets. This equals to over 140 rounds (25 targets per round), or more than 21 cases of clay targets. That is a lot of birds for just one day on any 5 stand course.
I asked the CSC Board of Directors if I could create a “blue” menu for our 5 stand, and have received their blessing. Our desire is to make the venue more enjoyable for more shooters. This is the perfect way to develop the skills needed to shoot the sporting clays course out back, or just warm up before going “out back”.
It is my hope to have this new menu set up and running by the 2nd week in June. Stop over and try it with your favorite hunting, skeet, or sporting clays shotgun.

Forty-one shooters came and shot the event. They came from as far away as Pennsylvania and Lockport,NY, but our neighbors from Rochester Brooks gun club pretty much cleaned house, winning: High Overall, 12ga, 16ga, 20ga, and 28ga classes. The .410 high score went to the Lady from PA.
The class winners were: 12ga David Martinchek, 16ga Mike Campbell, 20ga Brent Evangelist, 28ga Bob Belvatovich, and .410ga Marilyn Behrend. All the scores area available for download: CSC Fun Shoot 2011-06-11 Results.pdf (168KB). All scores are listed in order. All ties were broken by long-run starting at station one.
Mr. Weatherman didn't sound too promising for the day, but the last shower passed through Canandaigua about 5am, leaving the rest of the day rain free and partly sunny. Thanks to all the shooters who made the fun shoot a success, and to the several members who gave their time and energy to make it all happen.
Special thanks to Ron Youngs' daughter Rebecca who brought to the club the nice pictures and shooting gear of our recently departed member. Those who missed the memorial program at the club got to see some great pictures of Ron and share some of the great memories we all have of him. Ron was a hard working member who really loved shooting events like today's.
Thanks Rebecca for sharing your father Ron with all of us over the years.
